He made the switch to rugby union in 2000 when he joined Sale Sharks where he went onto score 248 points and make over 150 appearances.

In 2004 he was appointed as Captain and the Club went onto win the Challenge Cup. The following season, Sale Sharks went onto win the Premiership final.

In 2021 Jason was appointed as a non-executive director of Sale Sharks as the Club begins a new era.
